This page contains a kind of check list which shall help us decide whether an add-on to a game is so important that it needs to be treated just like a normal game within data views, i. e. it will show up in the default game lists and searches.

Major pros
- The add-on adds content that noticably extends the base game, i. e. new campaigns, new areas, new characters.
- The add-on was sold at full price.
- The add-on was developed by the same developers as the base game.
- The add-on was sold in boxes.
- The add-on was widely reviewed in the press.
- The add-on saw marketing like a full game, i. e. teaser videos, trade show appearances, adverts, etc..
Minor pros
- The add-on costs money, but is not full-price.
- The add-on was published by the same publisher as the base game.
Things that count contra significance
Major Cons
- The add-on just adds content which isn't immediately noticable within the base game, i. e. new items or skins.
- The add-on wasn't sold separately, but only together with the base game.
- The add-on didn't see any noticable marketing.
Minor Cons
- The add-on is free, i. e. it doesn't cost money.
- The add-on could only be downloadad, i. e. it wasn't sold in boxes.
